It arrived this week in a clear bag, folded flat. That's my hand holding it, and yes, those are my nails. The red border and the metal snaps look sturdy, and I ordered early so it's ready for holiday baking.
Snapped the corners to see the tray shape, with my star wallpaper in the background. It stands up with the sides raised, and it's still empty since this is before the first bake. Getting the corners together took about a minute.
Put it together on the parquet floor to check the shape, all four corners snapped. The sides stand up on their own and the corner tabs point up, so it should catch drips and crumbs. This was before its first bake, so it's still spotless.
Laid it flat to show what you get: a mat with a woven-looking center and a border with snaps near each corner. It bends easily, and the snaps are what turn it into a tray. I haven't baked on it yet and wanted a picture while it's still clean.
Snapped the corners together to check the shape before using it. It holds itself up as a tray, and I set it on the bedspread for the photo because the light is better in there. The red border looks nicer than I expected and I'm planning sheet pan dinners all month.
It came flat in a clear plastic wrap, so I spread newspaper on the counter before opening it (the dark blob in the middle is my phone's shadow, sorry). The snaps near each corner are metal and the center has a woven texture. Holiday cookie baking starts this weekend and I'm done scrubbing sheet pans.
School started and weeknight dinners have to be quick. Sheet pan dinner on the mat, then the dishwasher, done. I haven't picked up a scrub brush in weeks.
I was skeptical about silicone for roasting, but the potatoes came out golden and nothing stuck. Cleanup took less time than carrying the plates to the sink.
Good tray, but the edges are flexible, so it needs a sheet pan underneath to stay level when it's full. I learned that after one wobbly trip to the oven. Once I put a pan under it, like the instructions say, it was fine. I'm at four stars because I had to learn that the hard way.
It's too hot to run the oven, so I use the air fryer for dinner now. The mat fits in my square basket, and the drips from the chicken thighs stay on the mat instead of baking onto the basket.
Father's Day present, and a smart one, since I'm the one who always scrubs the pans after the ribs. The sauce never left the mat, and washing up took two minutes.
Oven ribs for Memorial Day because it rained. The sauce dripped everywhere and none of it reached the oven floor. I washed the mat in warm soapy water and the sticky parts came right off.
My mom bakes constantly and complains about cleaning pans, so I gave her one for Mother's Day. She called two days later to say she'd already used it for three batches.
I used to line my roasting pans with foil and throw it out every time. Now the mat gets rinsed and reused, the edges keep the oil in, and it can go in the dishwasher.
Baked hot cross buns and a tray of asparagus for Easter dinner. Everything came off the mat easily, and I ran it through the dishwasher with the dinner plates.
I bake bread on weekends and the loaves leave flour and crumbs all over the pan. The raised edges keep it on the mat, so I shake it out over the trash, wipe it down, and I'm done.
Tiny kitchen, tiny drawers. This rolls up and fits next to my rolling pin, and the boxes of foil and parchment I used to keep were taking up more room than I realized.
Game day wings used to mean scrubbing a pan the next morning. This time the grease stayed on the mat, I rinsed it, and the sheet pan underneath looked like I'd never used it.
New year, new plan to cook at home more. Sheet pan chicken and vegetables twice this week, and the pan underneath stayed clean both times because the mat took all the mess.
Cookie exchange this weekend and I'm making four dozen. One batch after another on the same mat, and I never had to wash anything between rounds. I just let it cool and loaded the next tray.
Works well, but the snaps were stiff at first and getting all four corners together took a few attempts. They loosened up after a couple of uses. The mat itself is great, so the stiff snaps are the only reason this isn't five.
My Black Friday order showed up after about a week, just in time for cookie season. The first batch of sugar cookies came off the mat without a single stuck one.
I'm giving this to my sister for Christmas since she bakes every weekend. I tested it with a batch of cookies first and they slid right off, so now I'm ordering a second one to keep for myself.
I bake cookies every weekend and my sheet pans have years of baked-on grease. With this on top, the pans stay clean and the cookies slide off with a nudge. I should have done this ages ago.
First time roasting potatoes and carrots on this, and the pan underneath needed no scrubbing at all. The raised edges kept the oil from running off, and I just rinsed the mat and put it away.
